Scientology Volunteer Ministers Help in London

Here's one reason I'm proud to be a Scientology Volunteer Minister.  Just as VMs immediately responded to the need for help in New York and in South Asia, so they did in London as well.  I know that if a disaster were to arise where I live, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers would help us here to (and I'd be right there at the front of the line!)

Last week I saw a great video (DVD actually) where Mr. David Miscavige of Religious Technology Center described what the Scientology Volunteer Ministers did in South East Asia following the tsunamis.  As devistating as the tsunamis were, the work the Scientology Volunteer Ministers did was so effective and so moving I can hardly describe it.  Rather than try, I'd like to recommend to anyone seeing this entry that they visit a Scientology church or mission and ask to see the presentation.  It was the event held this summer aboard the Freewinds (the ship that Scientology operates where advanced spiritual levels of training and auditing are available).  Specifically it was the evening where the work of the International Association of Scientologists is described.

Nice to see this on the Volunteer Solutions website.  The Scientology Volunteer Ministers of  Massachusettes is a very active chapter.  They sent volunteers over to South East Asia this past winter to help victims of the tsunamis.  They also have terrific programs going in the community to help with keeping and getting kids off drugs and helping with literacy.

The Dorchester Scientology Volunteer Ministry aims to provide free community service to the Boston community that reduces the violence. Examples of such programs are the Reading and Study Skills project and the non-violence program called the Way to Happiness.

I am a Scientology Volunteer

I'm very proud to be a Scientology Volunteer Minister.

People need help.  You know all this blather about how many people are psychotic?  Really what is this all about?

Haven't you ever been through a rough time?  What if someone had been willing to really help you, and knew what to do to help with with a relationship problem, stress at work or a drug or alcohol problem.

Well, Scientology volunteer ministers are trained to really be able to help people.  They learn this by reading and stuying the Scientology Handbook, most of which is online and you can read it at your leasure at home.

I for one am convinced that people are being overmedicated bigtime, and I'm very proud of Tom Cruise taking a stand an speaking out about psychiatry (as it is psychiatrists who invent the diseases the "cure" for which is to put more and more people on meds).

Good for you, Tom Cruise.
